*First blogging award alert*
I have been awarded the Black Cat Blue Sea Award!
But Grandma, before you call all your friends and tell them, let me tell you who and what this award is for:
“Bloggers who strive to write for everybody and no matter how many viewers they get, make an impact on a reader. This award is an expression of gratitude to the nominee. It should be awarded to anybody that you choose deserves it and it doesn’t mean that they have hundreds of followers and likes.”
I’m still less than a year fresh to blogging, so I’m grinningly thankful for the nomination and frolicking-in-packing-peanuts-and-bubblewrap joyful that there are people who have read and taken in the words I’ve shared. It’s also great fun to both read and share some of the more exclusive and may-have-fallen-through-the-cracks, individual facts of life.
Okay, now you can call your friends Grandma. P.S. – I love you!
Speaking of nominations: I was nominated by the general-awesomeness-blogger I Am Donovan. Thanks! I enjoy your blog and its conversational nature.
Also, here are the guidelines for this award:
The 3 questions I was asked were:
1. What’s your favourite* meme and why?
Hmmm…well, I don’t have one particular favourite but rather a favoured category: Christian Memes. Yup, they’re a thing. Why? Not, “Why are they a thing,” but “Why is it my favourite?” Primarily, because they’re funny and relatable. It’s also a way to laugh at some of the everyday things in Christian culture.
2. What was the last thing/person/conversation you really laughed at?
So, I’m taking “really laughed” to mean a laugh session of decent substance, and not just a 5 second, “Oh, that was funny,” laugh. That would be last week when I watched the Chewbacca Mom video for the first time. I was laughing/laugh-crying right along with her, silently dreaming of buying my own Chewbacca mask and then grudgingly sharing it my future kids.
3. What is the strangest thing you like to eat?
Soy sauce. Hands down. “But that’s a condiment…” So? I eat it. In a lot of varying ways, too. IT’S DELICIOUS! It’s my favourite. So there’s that.
*I also must mention, it warms my little heart to see that Canadian spelling of “favourite.” Especially while teaching American English in Korea!
Now for my nominees, I did indeed choose blogs that, no matter the number of views or followers (or even posts!) they have, they’ve echoed inside me. And not because I’m hollow, either. I’m thankful to them for their writing, and gladly pass on this award. Here they are:
My questions for you, should you choose to accept them, are:
1. What is your stance on soy sauce?
[It said I could ask any question…]
2. Superman or Batman? Or neither? Why? No judgment, I promise. Really.
3. What is your favourite, most effective thing to do when you’re feeling crappy/down in the dumps/energyless/lost in life?
Nominees: please know these questions are optional and do not hinder the award in any way. It just means that I enjoy your blog, and want to share it around.
Thanks again I Am Donovan. I definitely used your blog post as a template for mine, since I’ve never done this before.
Thus ends my first blogger award.
Live Long and…”succeed and/or flourish” in all ways.
